Watch: The Detourist Guide To Travel - Maui | Episode 1

So after years of traveling to different parts of the world I’ve finally began creating the video series I’ve been envisioning since our very first trip abroad. To be honest, I’m not sure why it’s taken so long to put together a show like this, but all excuses aside, I’m pretty pumped that it’s all coming together finally. Now it’s worth mentioning, in case you forgot the name of this site, that I’m an amateur. This is a work in progress, and I’m no cinematographer, but I’m giving a solid shot anyways and I hope you can ride with me as I figure it all out. So without further adieu, today is the day that I bring to you the very first installment of our show The Detourist Guide To Travel. Enjoy!

Watch: GX1000's Roll Up Video

Skateboarding can be a strange and confusing thing to watch for the uninitiated sometimes. If you don’t follow skating and happen to know what is going in any given flip-in-flip-out-ledge-trick, than even the most difficult tricks will most definitely be lost on the viewer. And sure, sometimes a few large handrail grinds can keep the attention of some fair-weather fans of skating for a bit, but even that is lost on most. I give you all of this to say, the GX1000 video is not your typical skate video. It’s 35 + minutes of butt puckering, anxiety inducing, life-risking, pure insane skateboarding that will keep the attention of even the most uninterested skateboard video viewers. Gather your friends and press play and watch a long list of un-named skateboarders do some of the wildest shit you’ll ever see!

Podcasts: The Nine Club With Chris Roberts

If you’re a frequent visitor of the site you probably know that skateboarding is a huge part of my life. I’ve skateboarded since I was 12 year old and I’m 31 currently. That’s just about 20 years of pushing around on a kids toy, but who’s counting! At this point, I’ve skateboarded for longer than I’ve done just about anything in my life, and that’s pretty damn cool if you ask me. Now that you have a little background on me, I can get into the Nine Club podcast.

Watch: Krooked LSD: Let's Skate Dude

I hear it over and over again, full length skate videos are dead. It seems like with every big skate video that drops, everyone exclaims that it's the last skate video ever... but then another one drops? So are they dead or nah? I'd have to say not quite yet. While big skate videos impact and lasting power has definitely decreased over the last 10 years, the new Krooked video is perfect proof that full length videos are still alive and shredding.

Watch: Devoted

If you don't know by now, skateboarding is a big part of my life. It's also mostly responsible for inspiring me to shoot photos in the first place. I've been staring at photos in skate magazines since I was 12 years old, studying the tricks, the angles and the skaters. At one point in my teenage years, every single available inch of wall in my bedroom was completely covered in skate photos that I had clipped out of Transworld, Skateboarder, Big Brother, Slap and Thrasher. This documentary "Devoted" is all about those magazines that played such a huge role in my life.
